Welcome to Danzan-Ryū Jujitsu
Danzan-Ryū Jujitsu is a powerful and adaptive martial art developed by Professor Seishiro “Henry” Okazaki in the early twentieth century. Drawing from traditional Japanese jujutsu and enhanced with principles from Western science and Hawaiian healing arts, this system provides a complete method of self defense and personal development.
A Legacy of Respect and Discipline
Our Danzan-Ryū curriculum includes breakfalls, escapes, throws, locks, and holds. Each student is guided in developing practical skills while upholding the values of mutual respect, perseverance, and humility.
What You Will Learn
- Ukemi (safe falling and rolling)
- Standing and ground-based self defense
- Throwing techniques and joint locks
- Kata and freeform application (randori)
Classes for All Ages
Whether you are new to martial arts or continuing your path, our classes are designed to meet students where they are. Youth and adult classes are offered throughout the week.
Our Lineage
Daibudo Kodenkan Matsuno Kenshukai honors the teachings of Professor Okazaki and maintains strong roots along with the Kodenkan Yudanshakai. Our connection to the Holck Family, direct students of Professor Okazaki, has helped preserve the art in its original spirit. Through this lineage, we continue to share Danzan-Ryū with integrity, tradition, and purpose.
